The Solana Ecosystem has grown exponentially since late 2023 and a lot of the adoption has been driven from one sector: Memecoins. One of the most prominent being Dogwifhat or $WIF for short. The WIF community has revitalized the spirit of decentralization in crypto, being one of the most successful “community takeover” tokens ever seen. Yet all this time nobody could answer the question.
Who is the dog under the hat?
The team behind Bora was the first to provide us an answer. Spending countless hours to find what seemed impossible to verify. Manually searching through years of tweets after not finding the original photo thru all means of image searching, Reddit research and several other methods we found what no one else had known was public for years. Once we could verify the name of the Dog we knew the information was correct as it came from a years old Instagram Post and up until that point there was no incentive for anyone to lie about this information.
On 11/17/2018 - the original photo of the dogwifhat was posted to Instagram. The owner of the account is an Asian Shiba Inu breeder. The original caption of the photo stated the the dog was “Siru’s Sister” and tagged another Instagram account. When clicking the account it was a personal blog by a woman who owned 2 female Shiba Inu that were constantly called sisters. One was Siru, the other was our beloved dogwifhat, Bora. Years later this photo would become a viral trend started by a streamer named Issa, which gave the meme the vitality to eventually become the inspiration behind the $WIF token on Solana.
Deployed on 1/20/2024, Bora was the first ever token launched that answered who the WIF dog is. It was also launched by the team who did the endless research to find the original photo that nobody knew existed prior.
Bora was an instantly successful token in economic terms exceeding 1M Market Cap within 30minutes of deployment. This caused a massive opportunity for less honest teams to deploy copycat tokens and outright lies claiming to be the real dogwifhat. No team ever even tried to find or launch the idea until after Bora was live and most were trying to capitalize on the hard work the Bora team did to find the original post. In the end every single other token died and every single other team proved to be complete scammers/frauds with no integrity. Among them all there were a few that caught traction and even were able to manipulate the public information that was always available. The Instagram accounts associated with “the real dog” ended up to also be proven to be complete frauds and tainted their own disinformation that once looked legitimate.
Between the volume of Bora, when you combine all other fraudulent copycats we produced well over $40M in trading volume in 12hrs. The entire Solana Blockchain sees that in a full day often. Bora has not only created the demand, but our team was the only one to stay while having to be the target of all these attacks that we’re trying to replace the first mover.
As stated before Bora was created with pure intentions and was the first mover because the team was the only one committed enough to do the research and legit enough to not try to alter or taint any public information.
Because we are still here we will continue to push the message that Bora was publicly stated as the Dogs name for years. Before there were any bad actors trying to overtake another token for financial gain… there was Bora.
The team wants to also make sure that our community and holders have assurances as well due to the negative financial impact of the token previously due to disinformation. As of now we are here 1 month after launch from $5M all time high market cap, thru a 15k all time low. All other projects claiming to be the real dog are not only working thru false information but are compromised by bad deployers. They also are still not 100% sure or able to prove the dogs name and admit so publicly.
Bora is the first and comes from pure info, but in the case where there is legitimate information that can confirm otherwise the team will be able to change the name to whatever can be proven without a doubt… until then we stick to the purest name above all…. Bora!
